Qualunque sia la nostra età o stagione che ci troviamo a vivere, la verità è che noi siamo, fino alla fine, qualcosa che è ancora al principio, la verità è che noi abitiamo unicamente degli inizi. Niente di più. Non vediamo nient’altro, finché siamo qui. La nostra stirpe è dunque quella dei neonati. Una delle più belle frasi che io conosca appartiene a una pagina biblica, la Prima Lettera di Pietro. Dice: ”Come bambini appena nati, desiderate”.

Noi siamo, anche con decine, anche con centinaia di anni sulle spalle, “bambini appena nati”. E alla misteriosa fragilità dei neonati dobbiamo più di quanto non crediamo. La nascita deve essere riconosciuta come struttura fondante della vita, sua inamovibile architettura primaria, e non soltanto come una delle sue forme occasionali, accidentali e possibili.

Quanta sapienza in quei versi di Lao Tse: “L’uomo, quando entra nella vita, è molle e fragile; quando muore, è rigido e duro. Perciò si dice: il rigido e il duro è da principio messaggero della morte; il molle e il fragile appartiene alla vita”.

Mi piace pensare che il verbo nascere è un verbo incessante, che fa di noi dei credibili messaggeri della vita. La vita è flusso, meravigliosa circolazione, successione sempre aperta. Le persone felici sono quelle che considerano tutto l’arco della loro vita come un processo di nascita.

Riporto questo testo dell’arcivescovo, teologo e poeta portoghese José Tolentino Mendonça, apparso sul quotidiano L’Avvenire (6 giugno 2019), perché mi sembra che riguardi in modo particolare tutti noi, pazienti e psicoterapeuti. Dietro alla volontà di affrontare se stessi, di crescere, di diventare più autentico, più completo non c’e forse un segreto desiderio di “rinascere”?

Fritz Perls, come motto del suo libro Gestalt Therapy Verbatim (1969), scrive: “To suffer one’s death and to be reborn is not easy”.

Invito dunque a riflettere su questo argomento che meriterebbe un nostro approfondimento.
